Annie S. Koo

I make complex products easier to use.

8+ years designing enterprise SaaS and complex platforms end-to-end: multi-persona workflows, AI-driven features, and research that shapes what gets built. Proven impact: +17.47% transactions at Pens.com, 44+ prioritized opportunities at LawnStarter. I spent the past year in Taipei designing for a bilingual, global audience.

About Me

This is how
I work.

01

Research-Grounded

I start with research: heuristic evaluations (NNg), usability testing, and A/B testing. Accessibility and inclusive design are part of the process from the start. My background is in Cognitive Science and HCI from UCSD.

02

AI-Driven Design

When a product runs on AI, the design questions shift. What happens when it's wrong? Does it need to explain itself? How much should it do before asking for confirmation? I've owned AI content systems end-to-end and focused on making the output useful and easy to trust. I use Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini daily to explore ideas earlier in the process.

03

Cross-Domain Adaptable

Seven product contexts across B2B SaaS, eCommerce, fleet safety, and growth. Several of those products served multiple personas at once across global markets: enterprise clients, independent operators, and first-time users all sharing the same platform. My research and systems approach carries across all of them.

04

Mentor & Collaborator

I've led a 7-person design team, mentored 6 junior designers 1:1, and helped set design system standards used across teams. I work closely with engineering, PMs, and stakeholders from day one.

05

Always Learning

This past year in Taipei (a new country, a new language, two roles) added event planning, operations, and cross-cultural mentorship to my practice. I pick up new contexts quickly.

06

Outcome-Focused

+17.47% in transaction rate at Pens.com. 44+ prioritized opportunities at LawnStarter. +187% reach and a community grown at Acts2 Network in Taipei. I measure both: numbers show whether a change worked, and user feedback shows why.

Pens.com

Senior Product Designer

Pens.com ran two checkout systems with inconsistent design quality across both. I proposed taking ownership of the microsite, partnered with the Experimentation Manager and web developer to research and test, and validated the fix in 12 days: +$15k revenue recovered, +13.24% conversion lift.

Product Designer

B2B SaaS platform serving enterprise clients, small business owners, and self-service users across organizer and attendee sides. I led the full research lifecycle, delivered 55 findings to the engineering backlog, then led a cross-functional team of PM, front-end, back-end, and QA to ship the onboarding tool that closed the platform's biggest activation gap.

Senior Product Designer, Growth Squad

Three brands, three distinct audiences, and acquisition flows built for volume that were losing user trust. I built the diagnostic methodology, ran it across all three brands with the PM and growth team, and delivered a prioritized roadmap of 44+ opportunities in 90 days.
